We live both in the material realm and the spiritual. In our material dimension we seek material pleasures, inherent in which is pain. Our human emotions are tied to our material attachments, and joy, at its fullest, is never found here. Real joy lies outside of the material dimension while living fully within us too, in the secret, small place inside where we always know that all is well.

We are on a trip in this life. And our journey is bringing us closer to full understanding of joy with every sorrowful circumstance. When you or I are one with God, have aligned our will with the will of God, we know joy. We know this, fully, that all is well. No harm can befall us.

Each circumstance in the material realm is an opportunity for us to rely on the spiritual realm for direction, security, and understanding. As we turn within, to our spiritual nature, we will know joy.

Make-up inspiration heightens with IMATS show

One of our Make-up artists, June Westmore, is know for her career roots in Hollywood.
Though she's one of the busiest Wedding Makeup artists on the Central Coast she still takes time out to stay in touch with the Professional Makeup Scene, which was thick last weekend in Pasadena at the IMATS convention.  June dragged the Wedding Gallery Crew; Nicole, Cil and Kiki (our latest design team leader) to the show so we could see what the trends were for the upcoming year.

Not only did we get inspired by the edgy free form of body make-up and avant garde  faces, but we also got hip to the enormity of airbrush! AIRBRUSH ROCKS!  It's not just for fake tans anymore-it's big for High def, and everyday wear.

Summer Love

It's almost July, Wedding Season is in full swing, my kids are out of school and don't know what to do with so much time together.  Camp outs, Weddings, Floral display consultations, meeting new vendors for the Gallery and all I can think about is the warm summer nights and LOVE...
No I'm not in LOVE, at least not that I'm going to admit now, but I'm around alot of people that are...and they are REDICULOUS!!! So let's join them and be ridiculous about what our love is like, and build a fire from it!
Let's run through love like it's a spinkler, let's put it in water balloons and splash it on each other.  Let's say that our love is like summer stars that fill the sky by the camp fire.  Let's enjoy the love that we celebrate when our friends get engaged, or our loved one find a new way to communicate.  Let's be silly and share our love without taking measure of what it gives back or what it costs.
Let's increase our knowledge and learn new crafts-other's dedicate and love their wedding careers, and improve on them daily.  Let's celebrate their expertise, and passion.  Let's do what we Love and Love what we do.

Congratulations

Congratulations to Deborah Armentrout and Jack Franklin of Morro Bay on their marriage June 7, 2008 at the Inn at Morro Bay.  Not only was Deborah knock down drop dead georgeous, (so was Jack) she also
was the first Wedding Gallery Guest to give us the challenge we've been waiting for...planning a wedding in 12 (yes, TWELVE) days!!!  We had a great time, everything came out beautiful!

We Got Rich!

Rich Ferguson, was recently passing by the Wedding Gallery, and it was a day we happened to be closed, so he decided to drop off the BEST OF SLO, New Times edition, that he was on the cover on...because you know, just because it was plastered all over town, and just because he & I hung out a few times  with friends, and just because we were both in the  SLO  wedding industry - doesn't mean I'd actually NOTICE it...NOT!  What a  doof...but see that's what I love about Rich- he's  under-assuming of his impact.   I've kinda been wondering when and if he'd have the time to join the ranks of the W.G. knowing that he's busy canvasing the globe with his entertaining ways.  I'm so lucky, so flattered, and so ready to do this Rich thing!  I mean I know I've already go this incredible list of "Exquisite Entertainers," but this really starts to give brides and event planners a whole to vision of what a party can be.

I need to let you brides in on a little secret...people don't have as much fun at your wedding as you think they would.  I know it's hard to believe, and I hope you don't think I'm outta line here, but seriously.  If you want your guests to really, really, REALLY have fun, you gotta Get RICH!  If you really want to out do all your friend's weddings---Get RICH!  If you're worried about spending too much money becuase of this so called recession...Get RICH.  This guys does not mess around when it comes to making your party into a real, honest to goodness genuinely fun time.  Rich, hates to be called this, so don't tell him I told you , but he's a magician...but he's not that kind of guy who does tricks, his magic is like really cool.  Like Narnia-Aslan cool.  (I'm sure he could make trees dance.)  He can read your mind, bend spoons, pull roses out of his coat sleeve- heck, I'll bet he could even make my son pass a spelling test.

He wants to be called a strolling entertainer...and that's all fine and good, but I'm here to tell you he does magic-he really does-like he can make things float in mid-air!  Okay but wait-here's the good news- he's at your wedding right? This totally talented guy, and he just BLENDS RIGHT IN...like guests won't even realize you've hired him.  He's so polished, so subtle, that he just blends right in, like any other guest...and then, being a polished pro...he just starts doin' his thing.  This guy has won several world class awards...for a reason, he's smoother than buttered glass, and classier than Tiffany's.  You want him at your event, period.

Wedding Make-up and Hair Services

I just want to let you, the bride in on a little conversation 
I had at the Wedding Gallery of San Luis Obispo, cuz sometimes 
you need to know the inside scoop between pros.

You want to make sure you get someone who is strong in both Hair and
Make-up for your wedding. You don't want a hairdresser who puts on make-up
or a Make-up artist who does hair.  Each entity is it's own specialty. 
Make sure to get experts in both.  Hours and hours of training goes into
both for each professional to keep up on tricks, trends and
professionalism. We're just starting to work with a wonderfully talented team at 
Studio 522 in Paso Robles.  They have hair peeps and paint people.  The hair folks
have a Bumble & Bumble background in hair- which is straight outta 
NYC and rocks hard.  The make-up team is separate team but they work great together
on location or in the salon.

Just to set the record in BALANCE...there are individuals who can do both hair and 
make-up WELL!
I know a couple tremendous talents that can play both- and that's AWESOME!!!  
It's just the exception rather than the rule, so make sure when you're shopping
for both- be aware that the two services are specialties and don't assume that
some one who's great with a face is just as good with a head of hair!
